The programme engages citizens in the three counties of Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa so that they can influence decision making processes in the realization of their rights as enshrined in the constitution. This enables them to access justice and benefit from the services that each Kenyan is entitled to by the constitution. Our goal is:

To increase accountability and transparency in governance and public finance management among coastal counties.

To achieve this goal, we focus on the following areas:

  • Increasing public participation in governance processes in the counties by pushing for the operationalization of public participation frameworks.
  • Increasing access to adequate and relevant public information to support community advocacy initiatives.
  • Reducing wastage of public resources by highliting and exposing wasteful use, theft and negligence of public resources.
  • Promoting electoral justice and integrity by conducting civic and voter education, and encouraging the participation of marginalized groups in electoral processes.
